Ryan - lead vocals
All his life Ryan has loved singing, but found his love for Country Music during his youth from his Grandpa.
After serving his country with the Army in Iraq he returned to Minnesota and began his singing career performing with several successful country bands.
Ryan has shared his talent at many venues across the Upper Midwest, opening for National Acts such as Craig Campbell, Emerson Drive, Steel Magnolia, Scarletta, The Jacob Martin Band, Phil Vassar, Katie Armiger, Wynonna Judd and Little Texas.
You will find Ryan is a powerful and passionate singer who moves you with every song he sings. He enjoys meeting and greeting all old and new friends/fans at every show.
Hoss - guitar and vocals
On guitar and vocals, no stranger to the country music scene, is Jason Hoskins, mostly known by friends as Hoss. He has been playing music professionally only in the years 2003, 2006, and 2009 according to the IRS.
Hoss has been involved with local country outfits that have opened and played with national artists like Josh Gracin, Keith Anderson, Joe Nichols, Love and Theft, Thompson Square, Steel Magnolia, Jon Rich, Sawyer Brown, Frankie Ballard, and David Nail (but not Toby Keith because he cancelled that event which Hoss is still haunted by to this day) Being close to these artists and talking with their musicians has given Hoss a unique perspective he applied to the music he has been writing.
He can make people laugh with his sarcastic sense of humor, while taking things quite seriously when put to a task. Now he heads into Copperhead Creek with the right musicians to put on a show that every venue will love to have back.
Hoss approaches music out of a heart of service. His expertise and professional abilities make him a dynamic and sought-after musician and he is aware of the privilege he shares with others who are able to do what they love.
Ben - guitar and fiddle
Ben is a multi-instrumentalist from central Minnesota. His talents include lead guitar, fiddle, mandolin and a few others. Ben has a very musical background with several generations of musicians on his Mom and Dad’s side of the family.
Surrounded with instruments and musicians at a very young age, Ben picked up on the lap steel guitar and standard guitar very quickly. His grandparents owned and operated Goeb’s Music store out of their home from the 1970s through the mid 1990s and his Grandpa had built Ben his first guitar at the age of 5.
Although not formally educated in music, Ben has gained knowledge through years of experience and being surrounded by successful talent. Ben joined his first band “The Wagon Wheelers” at the age of 13 in 2003. Although a guitar player, he played the drums for the first two years until becoming the full-time lead guitar player and 2nd fiddle to his uncle Kevin.
Ben left the band after almost 9 years to pursue other opportunities. He decided to get out of the bar scene and went on to perform in two productions at St. Croix Off Broadway Dinner Theatre: “Back Home Again – A John Denver Christmas” & “Righteous!” – The Story Of The Righteous Brothers”. Ben was honored to have Bill Medley of the Righteous Brothers involved in the project.
Shortly after, Ben was introduced to Ryan & Hoss in a project that eventually evolved into the current band – Copperhead Creek. Going on 4 years with Copperhead Creek, they have played some of the biggest venues in the Midwest and have opened for artists such as: Wynonna Judd, Phil Vassar, Blackhawk, Katie Armiger and others.
His favorite musical styles are: Modern country, traditional country, classic rock, southern rock, bluegrass and anything that has good instrumentation (because it’s not all about the singer). Ben’s influences include: Brad Paisley, Brent Mason, Vince Gill, Chet Atkins, Tommy Emmanuel, Les Paul, Jerry Reed, Albert Lee, Ricky Skaggs, Waylon Jennings, Stuart Duncan, Mark O’Connor, Andy Leftwich, Charlie Daniels, Alison Krauss and many, many more!
His passion for music shows in every note he plays and every word he speaks. Make sure you come and say hi to him at an upcoming show!
Joe - drums
From his humble roots growing up in a small town in central Illinois, Joe's versatility and passion for playing drums has led him to performing in numerous successful bands of varying styles.
A veteran of the Twin Cities music scene, Joe has occupied the drum chair for the bluesy pop-rock band The Hillcats, the pop-funk band Search Party, the variety band Atlantis--which included a stint performing aboard a cruise ship in the Caribbean--the ABBA tribute band Abbasalutely, the blues band Mojo, and the eclectic pop band A Series of Clicks and Beeps.
Joe then finally settled into what he now considers his most beloved style of music--country music--while playing in the band Daisy and the Dukes. The band performed throughout the Upper Midwest at virtually every country venue imaginable, including opening up for legendary singers Kix Brooks of Brooks & Dunn and Neal McCoy at Moondance Jammin' Country Fest in addition to having shared the stage with former American Idol contestant/current country star Casey James as well as the popular Minnesota bands Rocket Club and G.B. Leighton.
An in-demand drummer, Joe has also been featured in Modern Drummer magazine and has taught private lessons for many years. His wealth of experience and talent are clearly evident in Copperhead Creek as his slinky grooves and rock-solid backbeat never fail to bring a crowd alive and out on the dance floor.
